Welded ball valves utilize a special structural design and welding quality, adhering to clear standards for weld quality. The connection between the welded ball valve and the main pipeline is achieved through welding. The weld quality must meet the Class II plate standard of (GB3323—2005). Typically, a single weld cannot fully guarantee complete qualification, so when ordering valves, manufacturers should be requested to add 1.0m long sleeves to both ends of the valve. If the weld is not qualified, there is sufficient length to cut out the unqualified weld and re-weld. When welding the ball valve to the pipeline, the valve should be in the 100% fully open position to prevent the valve ball from being damaged by spattered weld slag and to ensure that the temperature of the internal seals does not exceed 140 degrees Celsius. Appropriate cooling measures can be taken if necessary.
Welded ball valves use a special structural design, featuring maintenance-free characteristics. Before underground burial, a special Pu anti-corrosion coating is applied to the outside of the valve. Three injection tubes are also installed for emergency lubrication of the valve seat and stem, a cavity vent tube, and the valve stem is extended appropriately according to the burial depth, allowing personnel to complete various operations from ground level. After direct burial, a small valve hand well can be constructed. Conventional non-welded ball valves, however, cannot be directly buried and require the construction of large valve wells, resulting in a dangerous confined space, which is not conducive to safe operation. Meanwhile, the valve body itself and the bolted connections between the valve body and the pipeline are subject to corrosion, affecting the service life of the valve.
